Dailies

These are paintings that are (mostly) completed in a single day. Inspired by Nicolas Uribe's 'Our Painted Lives' project, and then ultimately spurred into action by covid lock-downs, these paintings encompass a range of subjects and ideas, the most important through-line being: 'Don't think about it, just paint'. Initially, my goal was to create 5 paintings a week for a month. After completing that project, I carried on the habit of painting quickly, but relaxed my output. It's still my favorite way to paint: small, quick, and alla-prima.
