Sweetness and Dark

Sometimes things that are really beautiful can scare us a little. This fact is as true for majestic landscapes as it is for beautiful humans. 'The call of the void' is a well-known concept in relation to cliffs, and rough seas, and oncoming traffic, but do you ever feel it when you look at another person? I think in one way or another my creative journey always returns to a single goal: to make beautiful things that scare you a little bit. In this series, I started by exploring multiple exposures. What would time look like, flattened and compressed into a single image? The results are somewhat monstrous, and maybe too much so, if not for the innocence of the subject matter.
