Watercolors

In the years just after graduating from college I made this series of small watercolor paintings. In particular I was inspired by the miniature abstract worlds that would appear when I let the pigment pool on synthetic paper. Could I force these little worlds to create a recognizable image? That tension between abstraction and realism, chaos and order, has always fascinated me. How far can you push one without losing the other?
